I'm not sure if I've commented before, but I am so impressed with your tatting and your new blog. The flags you've made are excellent!
I was delighted to read that you learned to tat, seemingly with no tears, using Janette Baker's book and DVD. I have sung the praises of her DVD ever since I first saw it a few years ago, and I recommend it highly. She validated my opinion that the chain should be taught first, with two colors of thread. It has now become an accepted method of teaching. I only wish that method had been around in the 1950s for me! I had to wait more than 30 years to finally see someone tatting. But I still struggled to learn the flip. I'm so glad you were successful!
I had a few tears when learning to tat, but Janette Baker's book was clear and easy to follow and I learned how to tat completely on my own. Everything I've learned has come from books or You Tube or blogs. Still looking for tatting friends in real life.
That is just plain cool!
